I want to use this blog to talk about all things homesteading. The good, the bad, and even the ugly sometimes. Hey, we all have our ups and downs. Here I want to share with you everything that we've been up to at the homestead and take you along side with recipes, what has worked for us, and what hasn't. I want to be raw and real with each of you. But first, let me tell you a little bit about my homestead.
I am from a small town in Kentucky called Clifty. Now if you blink you will miss it driving through. However, I wouldn't have it any other way. Sitting on the back porch in our wooden rocking chairs, watching the sunset behind the trees just over the fields. Rows and Rows of crops around every turn. Knowing your neighbors and being there for one another whenever it's needed. Here in Clifty, we are family. It's a slow and simple life, with a lot of hard work and dedication to truly living off the land.
To paint a better picture, the homestead is small, we do not raise our meat. (YET) But we do grow and preserve our own food, cook from scratch, herbal medicines (I am not a doctor and cannot diagnosis or treat), raising chickens, and making home products that are safe and natural. My calling in life is to live the way God intended for us to and to help teach others this way of life. To hit the rewind button in time and start to enjoy life, feel better, and eat from what you have grown. To be self-sufficient in every way possible. Through the years we have learned what works for us and what does not, and we are still learning everyday. I cannot wait to share more from what I have already learned and what I will be doing in the future!
Thank you so much for being here! Follow along for more to come!
